Chinese phone manufacturer Xiaomi has reached One Million milestone in India. Xiaomi has adopted flash sale model, in which company first takes pre-registrations and then it holds flash sale on every Tuesday. Only pre-registered users are allowed to buy the device on sale day. Xiaomi sells its smartphone through online sale model via Flipkart. Xiaomi Flash sale has been a huge success in India, many times company inventory went out of stock in seconds. Xiaomi has reached the One Million milestone in India in just 5 months after debuting in India.
"We're celebrating 1 million devices sold in less than 5 months in India. Isn't that awesome? Thank you Indian Mi fans for this incredible milestone! We're here to stay," wrote Manu Kumar Jain, Head of Mi India, in a Facebook post.
Until now Xiaomi has sold Xiaomi Mi3, Xiaomi RedMi 1S and Xiaomi RedMi Note in India. Out of which majority of units sold in India were of Xiaomi RedMi 1s. RedMi 1S is the major contributor in reaching the 1 Million mark. Apart from this, Xiaomi is having unique facility of detecting user’s age when he/she takes picture by using front cam of the mobile.
Now Xiaomi made its debut in India with Mi3 smartphone via Online retailer Flipkart and sold all units within mere second with the flash sale concept. Followed by Mi3, success continued with Redmi 1S and Redmi Note, until court imposed a ban on Xiaomi from selling and importing its devices in India due to case filed by Swedish tech-giant Ericsson for patent infringement.
The recent ban of the company from India may have affected their sales, however, it seems the company is doing fine considering the latest figures. Recently the ban was lifted, and this saw the company bring back the Redmi 1S on sale along with an announcement about Redmi Note 4G’s arrival.
