The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) (Hindiसंघ लोक सेवा आयोग) is India's central agency authorized to conduct the Civil Services ExaminationIndian Forest Service examination, Engineering Services Examination, Combined Defense Services ExaminationNational Defense Academy ExaminationNaval Academy ExaminationCombined Medical Services Examination,Special Class Railway ApprenticeIndian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination, Combined Geo scientists & Geologists Examination, and Central Armed Police Forces(Assistant Commandant) Examination.
The agency's charter is granted by the Constitution of India. Articles 315 to 323 of Part XIV of the constitution, titled as Services Under the Union and the States, provide for a Public Service Commission for the Union and for each state. The examination is one of the toughest examinations in India with success rate of 0.1%-0.3%.
In accordance with the provisions contained in Article 320 of the Constitution read with the provisions of Union Public Service Commission (Exemption from Consultation) Regulations 1958, Recruitment Rules of all Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ posts in various Ministries/Departments of Government of India are required to be framed in Consultation with the Commission. Consultation with the Commission is also necessary for framing/amending Recruitment Rules for certain categories of posts under the Employees State Insurance Corporation, The Delhi Municipal Corporation, The New Delhi Municipal Council, Employees Provident Fund Organisation etc. under the relevant Acts made by Parliament in pursuance of the provisions of Article 321.A

    Educational Qualification:


    Candidates should possess any degree of any University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.


    Age Limit:

    • Candidates age should be above 21 years and below 32 years as on 01-08-2015 i.e., he/ she must have been born not earlier than 02-08-1983 and not later than 01-08-1994. 
    • The upper age relaxation is 05 years for SC/ ST, 03 years for OBC and 10 years for PH candidates. Age relaxation is applicable as per rules.


    Selection Process:


    The Civil Services Examination will consist of two successive stages. Civil Services Preliminary Examination (Objective type) for the selection of candidates for the Main Examination and Civil Services Main Examination (Written and Interview).

    Application Fees:


    Candidates have to Pay Rs.100/- either by online or offline mode. No Fee for Female/ SC/ ST/ PH candidates.

    • Online Mode: Candidates can pay the prescribed fee through online mode by using net banking facility of State Bank of India/ State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/ Sate Bank of Hyderabad/ State Bank of Mysore/ State Bank of Patiala/ State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/ Master Credit/ Debit Card up to 19-06-2015 at 23.59 hrs.
    • Offline Mode: Candidates can pay the prescribed fee through ‘Pay by Cash’ mode, take print out of system generated Pay in slip during part II registration and deposit the fee at the counter of SBI Branch on the next working day only up to 18-06-2015 at 23.59 hrs.

    Eligible candidates may apply online through the UPSC website (link Provided Below) from 23-05-2015 to 19-06-2015 till 11.59 PM.

    Instructions to Apply Online for UPSC Jobs:

    • Before applying online candidates have to scan the copies of photograph & signature.
    • Click on “ONLINE APPLICATION FOR VARIOUS EXAMINATIONS OF UPSC”.
    • Click on “Part – I/ Part – II Registration”.
    • Read the Important Instructions & fill the form with all the relevant details & submit the application form.
    • After successful registration, a unique registration ID will be allotted, note down the ID & password.
    • Now fill the personal profile, contact details, age relaxation if applicable.
    • Now fill the details of qualification, experience.
    • Now fill the details of Professional Registration, Language, Miscellaneous Module.
    • Now candidate have to choose the Recruitment Test Centre.
    • Now candidates have to upload documents in Document Upload Module
    • After uploading photograph & signature preview the ORA form and check the details carefully.
    • Now click on the submit button
    • Candidates can Pay Online using the Internet banking facility in SBI or other associated banks or can pay through Visa/ Master Debit or Credit card issued by any Bank/ Institution.
    • Here the Transaction ID & Date of Registration details will directly uploaded automatically.
    • Now pay the fee through cash at any branch of State Bank of India through the Pay-in-Slip
    • A transaction ID will be given, again revisit the website and click on the “Click here to view your Previous/ Currently active applications”.
    • Log in by registration ID & password, candidates can see “My Active Application (My draft Application)” link.
    • Now fill the details of transaction ID and Date of Transaction if paid through cash.
    • Click “Continue”, check the details of fee and submit the application.
    • Now take the printout copies of application attach the attested copies of all documents and keep it for future use.
